—— An alternative digital garden tended by Eric Liao, Mandarin interpreter ——

Welcome! 👋

You've stumbled upon Eric's little unknown corner of the Internet, a personal digital garden of atomic thought, so to speak.
This is my completely experimental and new-born second website (as of July 18, 2023), made possible through the Logseq Publish mechanism and Netlify.
My name is Eric Liao. I am a conference interpreter and a certified court interpreter based in California.
I speak Mandarin, English, and Taigi.
Don't be surprised to find this site, mainly in English, peppered with writing in Chinese and Taigi.
Please visit my main website.
There, you'll find my interpreter's work/voice samples, and lots of blog posts.
Here is my CV/résumé in PDF and Word

Blog

There's no better way to learn about anything than doing it. So here I am, blogging as I learn to use Logseq.
As a result, for now the posts are quite meta: about using Logseq (the tool that produced what you're reading) and other PKM (personal knowledge management) and note-taking tools in general.

Cheers! 🍷 I hope you have fun roaming this site as much as I've been having fun building it!

Navigating this site

One major feature you'll find here is, this site and every page look like collections of bullet points, as this homepage demonstrates.
That is by design, not a defect! 😀
It showcases the strength of Logseq as a "block-based," networked outliner app and graph database.
Click Graph to check out a cool connected graph.
You can navigate the site by clicking on each node.
Here are two tips you need to enjoy yourself here.
🔆
1. If you would like to toggle between the light/dark themes, click on the three dots (...) on the top right corner and click "Toggle theme."

⦿

2. Every time you see a bullet point in double circle:
Hover your pointing device near it to reveal the little right-pointing triangle:
And click on it to expand the content. You may be surprised how much you're missing!
